About A-ROSA
A-ROSA Flussschiff GmbH is a leading European premium operator of river cruises on the Danube, Douro, Rhône/Saône, Rhine/Main/Moselle, and Seine. The company has offices in Rostock, Chur (Switzerland), and Sydney, and currently employs around 850 people from 25 different countries.
Founded in 2000, A-ROSA began offering river cruises on the Danube in 2002. Thanks to rising demand, the company has continuously expanded its fleet and cruise regions. The fleet currently consists of 15 ships, including the innovative and pioneering E-Motion Ship A-ROSA SENA, which features a hybrid propulsion system with battery storage.
CEO Rolf-Dieter Maltzahn has been managing director of A-ROSA Flussschiff GmbH since February 2025. COO Markus Zoepke has been with the company since 2003. British investment manager Fidera is the group’s main shareholder.

Rolf-Dieter Maltzahn
Rolf-Dieter Maltzahn, CEO of A-ROSA Flussschiff GmbH, began his professional career in 1989 at TUI Germany, where he held various management positions until 2008, ultimately as Head of Purchasing Central Europe. He then moved to DER Touristik, where he initially headed the hotel unit as CEO until 2013 and was responsible for package holidays as Managing Director until 2019. Most recently, he was Managing Director of GALERIA Reisen GmbH, where he was responsible for the travel and tourism segment. In February 2025, he took over the management of A-ROSA Flussschiff GmbH with over three decades of experience in the tourism industry.

Markus Zoepke
Markus Zoepke, COO of A-ROSA Flussschiff GmbH, completed his three-year hotel management apprenticeship at the Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten in Hamburg in 1987. Between 1993 and 2003, he worked for RIMC International Hotel Resort Management and Consulting GmbH and ITMC International Tourism Management and Consulting, along with other companies. In July 2003, Markus Zoepke became Head of Finance and Accounting at A-ROSA Resorts. Just four months later, he became COO of A-ROSA Flussschiff GmbH, and has been managing the operational business of the A-ROSA Group from Chur (Switzerland) ever since.

Andrej Vizjak
Prof. Dr. Andrej Vizjak, CFO of A-ROSA Group, began his career at McKinsey & Co. and A.T. Kearney (Principal in 1994, Vice President in 2000) after completing his doctorate. Alongside his consulting career, he taught as a professor at the Ingolstadt School of Management and completed his education at Harvard Business School, while also shaping strategic guidelines for companies such as Gorenje. From 1995 to 2000, he served as Executive Vice President at Bertelsmann, and later as Senior Partner and Chief Innovation Officer at PwC for Central and Eastern Europe (2010–2015). In 2015, together with his wife, he founded AV.consulting in Dubai, featuring the award-winning “Success Formulas” methodology. Since September 2025, he has been CFO of the A-ROSA Group and is responsible for finance functions in both Chur and Rostock.
