About A-ROSA

A-ROSA is a premium European River Cruise company which offers a wide variety of river cruise destinations on the Danube, Rhine/Main/Moselle, Seine, Rhône/Saône and Douro. The company operates offices in Rostock, Chur (Switzerland) and Cardiff (Great Britain) and currently employs around 850 people from 25 different nations.

Established in 2000 as part of the Deutsche Seereederei GmbH, A-ROSA started cruising the Danube in 2002. Due to increasing demand, the company has continuously expanded its fleet.

In February 2018, A-ROSA was acquired by the British financial investor Duke Street. The company's management consists of Jörg Eichler, Chief Executive Officer, and Markus Zoepke, Chief Operating Officer, who also hold shares in the company.

The A-ROSA fleet currently numbers 15 premium ships, including the new innovative and hybrid-powered e-motion ship called A-ROSA SENA, which sets completely new standards at all levels thanks to state-of-the-art technologies.

The company is planning future investments in marketing, product innovation and sales, the construction of new ships and the development of a sustainable travel strategy.

Jörg Eichler

Jörg Eichler, CEO of A-ROSA Flussschiff GmbH, has been working in the tourism industry since 2002 after holding positions at Denon Electronic and Sony Music. From 2002 to 2008 he was Director of Sales at TUI Deutschland, and from 2008 to 2012 he was Managing Director of Marketing and Sales at AIDA Cruises. After a stopover as Head of Tourism at the Unister Group, he took on his current role as Managing Director of A-ROSA Flussschiff GmbH in Rostock in 2013, of which he has been a shareholder since 2018.

Markus Zoepke

Markus Zoepke

Markus Zoepke, COO of A-ROSA Flussschiff GmbH, completed his three-year hotel management apprenticeship at the Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten in Hamburg in 1987. Between 1993 and 2003, he worked for RIMC International Hotel Resort Management and Consulting GmbH and ITMC International Tourism Management and Consulting, along with other companies. In July 2003, Markus Zoepke became Head of Finance and Accounting at A-ROSA Resorts. Just four months later, he then took over as Managing Director and shareholder of A-ROSA Flussschiff GmbH, A-ROSA Reederei GmbH in Chur, Switzerland.
