A-ROSA was founded in 2000 as part of Deutsche Seereederei GmbH and began cruising in 2002, initially with two ships on the Danube. The company responded to the increasing demand for river cruises by steadily expanding its fleet. Today, the homogeneous fleet consists of 15 modern ships that meet the latest safety and environmental standards.

Life on board
Life on board is colourful and diverse. Each one of us has their routine on board manifested in daily schedules etc. and the compliance is the responsibility of ever crew member. The respective department head in turn will check whether rules and regulations are adhered to.
Accommodation is in double cabins (except for some department heads). Please make sure you lock your cabin at all times and secure your valuables (Lockable drawer in your cabin).
Depending on the signal you have the opportunity to use internet on board (fee required).
Washing machines and dryers for private clothes are available for your use free of charge. Your uniform will be washed and ironed for you free of charge.
For the first days on board you need to bring some work clothes until your uniform is delivered on board - Please read the leaflet ”Mitzubringen”.
On board there is the possibility to order soft drinks, beer and sweets through the on-board store. The maitre is responsible for this.
Our Gym and Sauna can be used by the crew at set times (after guest service hours).
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served in the crew mess, which also serves as the recreational area on board. Please leave the mess in the same condition in which you would like to find it.
Our crew sundeck (except SENA) is an additional space only available for our crew. Please always pay attention to signs whether the area is closed down (due to low bridges etc.).
In our on board regulations you will find important rules which are necessary to keep everything in order. It is valid for all crewmembers which means they are fair for everybody. In your job description you will find your
Every crew member receives a uniform at begin of season. Please take care of your uniform! It has to be worn in a neat way (clean and ironed) at all times. Private clothes are not allowed while on duty. Exceptions are situations when uniform pieces are missing or in a bad condition. If this is the case, please make sure that your clothes are subtle and close to the “A-ROSA standards”. Your name tag is part of your uniform and has to be worn accordingly.
